While bluffing might be one key to winning in poker, there are a few more tips and tricks that can absolutely help you in the long run.  For one thing, if you are just starting out playing, you want to make sure that you are limiting the number of hands that you are playing.

The reason for this is because you might constantly be playing hands but they might not be a good hand … that alone is pointless.  If you are constantly playing hands that are bad, you are losing money and that is not what the game of poker is all about, it is all about winning.

Next, you always want to make sure that you know what the best hand you can have is.  That means that the knowledge of reading the board is very, very important.
