The Best Poker Rooms in Atlantic City

Atlantic City is a popular destination for poker players, mainly because it is so easily accessible from the cities on the east coast. If you are going to play poker in Atlantic City you will need to find a poker room to play in. There are a lot of them to choose from which can make this a bit of a challenge. The big thing is to make sure that you find a poker room that is well suited for you. As long as you do this you are playing in the best poker room in the city since you are playing in the best one for you.

Finding the best poker room in Atlantic City is going to require that you consider what you are looking for in a poker room. The main thing is to find one that offers games that at your price level. If you intend to play hands with dollar bets it makes no sense to go to a poker room where the cheapest game requires ten dollar bets no matter how good people say that it is. You also have to consider things like your skill level and the type of game that you want to play. Once you know these things you will find that making the right choice is easy. Remember there is no best poker room in Atlantic City just the best one for you.

The best poker room in Atlantic City is probably the Trump Taj Mahal. They are an ideal location because they offer games that will appeal to players of all levels. You can play in games that have two dollar limits or games that have two hundred dollar limits. There are lots of tables so the wait to get into a game is not all that long, although there are also a lot of players. The good news is that you will never have trouble finding a game at the Taj Mahal.

The Tropicana is another great poker room in Atlantic City, largely for the same reasons as the Taj Mahal. They offer a wide variety of games and they have a wide variety of limits so there is something for players of all skill levels. While it is not as big as the Taj Mahal it does still have quite a few tables so you should not have to wait too long to get a game.

Another great option for poker in Atlantic City is The Showboat. The main appeal here however is their Saturday night poker tournament. For a seventy five dollar entry fee you can get into a great tournament that can be an excellent way to spend an evening. There is of course poker the rest of the week as well and although not one of the bigger poker rooms in the city it does attract a good crowd.

The C-bet for beginners

kd5dBeginners face a plethora of problems while playing poker. They generally have trouble playing poker on the flop and after the bets are raised.

You may ask what is a c-bet?

When players chase the pre-flop raise along with a bet on the flop, you may choose it hit or you may avoid is termed as a c-bet.

An incessant bet helps in taking advantage of the initiative that gains you and acts as the pre-flop attacker and this shapes the game. It helps in forwarding it over to the flop. One of the general rule of the table is that if you decide to raise before the flop the message sent by you is crystal clear. The message is that you have great cards and you are eager to play the game. This unspoken statement is read by most of the matured poker players and they start understanding your game plan and psychology behind the game.

The opponent would generally fold his cards if he does not have premium cards.  The bets which forward the game are very pertinent. They give a concrete form to the game. It is observed that most of the hands overlook the flop all the time.

If you and the opponents miss the flop and you would resort to betting if the opponent is checking which is quite natural. It is an individual way of establishing on the poker table that you have a supreme hand with premium cards.

Players know that there is a lot of dead money in the pot as the weak players have folded their cards. Your opponent should not be aware of your game plan. If you are ready to fire a c-bet on the opponent he should be unaware about it. You should avoid being repetitive in poker.

Learning the Secret Language of Poker

poker 1Poker has a language all its own. It is not precisely its own culture, it is just a game, but even still, it does indeed have its own language. Understanding that language is important when it comes to being successful in the game.

Know that the blinds take the place of antes in more traditional games and variations of poker. There is a small blind and a big one, and both are forced bets which must be put down before you see the cards.

The board cards go by many names, such as community cards. You see these in games like Texas Hold ‘Em. Every player shares them.

Know that the draw comes when you want to improve your hand. The pre flop is the name for the turn during which you are dealt your hand.

Flop, turn, river — in games like Texas Hold ‘Em, it is vital that you understand these terms.

Johnny Chan: He’s On Fire!

Johnny Chan Can we have a chat about Johnny Chan?  This is a guy that is not only one of the leading guys in the world in poker but really … let’s talk about him.  He was born in China and he actually moved on over to the US when he was nine years old.  He didn’t know English very well when he started out here but now – he is pretty fluent in it.

He dropped out of college when he was 21 and had one … just one goal in mind and that was to become a professional poker player.  In my head, Johnny Chan has definitely made it to professional status and he is certainly someone that I am scared of!

Johnny Chan is a fast and super aggressive poker player and his strongest strength is reading people – keep that in mind!

Think About Your Actions In Poker!

poker_chips

Whenever you are dealing with poker – there are things that you need to think about, one is going to be your actions.  Think back – some of the things that we have talked about in this particular blog all have to do with watching other people’s actions and being very aware of what your players are doing – do you not think that they are doing the exact same thing?

To be perfectly honest, every action that you make is probably being critiqued by many, many different people.  They are constantly going to be wondering why you raised, why you called, why you folded – remember that whenever you are playing poker, you are constantly being judged.

While you are constantly being judged, remember – you are going to be doing the judging as well, so make sure that you keep that in the back of your mind.
